RAM Environmental are chosen to install a new welding fume extraction system.
We were approached by Tex Engineering to provide a welding fume extraction system to serve seven welding bays at their Ipswich factory.
Tex manufacture a multitude of products for the road laying industry as well as trailers, kiosks and gas burners. With such a diverse product range RAM Environmental had the task of designing and installing a system which met with their varied needs.
We specified a 11kw centrifugal fan protected with star delta control gear. Eight Oskar fume extraction arms were installed throughout the factory. The trailer manufacturing bay required a coverage of 7 meters to ensure welding fumes could be extracted at source effectively. To overcome this we installed a 3 meter extension boom along with a 4 meter fume extraction arm giving the required coverage. The remaining welding bays were furnished with a mixture of Oskars standing and hanging fume arms depending on the requirements.
Upon completion the system was commissioned and a report issued to provide TEX with all the necessary commissioning data.
Workers at TEX noticed a significant improvement in air quality in the factory and are pleased with quality and design of the system.

RAM were extremely professional when they designed and fitted the LEV in our new design and technology department. Richards experience and knowledge working in a school environment was a great help in the design period. After Richard had fitted the extraction system all D&T staff and users of the department were very impressed with the outcome.
